Updated: Nov 22, 2018

When you are communicating with foreign colleagues or customers, you might need to support an idea or oppose [say you are against it] an idea. Look at the language below and learn how to support and oppose ideas professionally.

These are excellent sentences to use when you want to support an idea in a business situation, but you will only agree if something else happens.

"I'm in favor of ..................... if ............"

I'll support the proposal to .................. providing ..............."

Also, if you don't agree with something or you oppose an idea, you can use this kind of language to say that you don't agree unless something happens.

"I'm opposed to ............... unless .........."

"I'm against any proposal to ............... unless .........."

Using this kind of business English will help you to communicate your ideas clearly and professionally.
